Impatient Businessman

This activity opened up your eyes to see that when you have to come  up with something at the last minute it might or might not be the easiest create it. For my group it was difficult to come up with something because we both had different ideas & it was hard to put our heads together. We came up with this design by making our pieces very small yet very stable. We closed the bottom like a card box would usually close. We decided to use tall boxes/rectangles stacked up on each other to make it taller. Somethings that we came accross that were a challenge, was not enough time to come up, draw, cut & design a building. Also the groups were not well thought through because Mr. Berndt just said alright go and find your group. Knowing the little time & not knowing the teams you just grabbed whoever was right next to you. This project helped me develop my thinking skills into seeing which way of building a building is well built, looks good, and meets the requirement. We called this projet the "Impacient Business Man" I think was because of the time and because we didnt want to make it seem as if we took our time on something when we really just spit it together.

This last image is a view of the top of the tower as compared to a penny.

Cup Redesign Project (Drink Master 5000PLTW)

Our class has just completed this project, photos will follow.  This project really opened my eyes to the design process, and showcased the work I will be doing this year in this class.  This project went well and our cup design entailed all of what i believe the customer will wand and or need.  These key design features, mini display, fill, time and temperature sensors, and the ability to change the cup's design with photos from a PC, provide to the ultimate cup for the consumer.  Now knowing how the design process works, I can carry on in to the year being able to understand an engineers perspective in to the design world.
